The owner of this new – rare, patent number gem is WKC member Harris92. According to the seller, this red Weber kettle was originally purchased by the seller’s parents as newlyweds in 1973. Shortly after purchase, the seller’s parents decided to become vegetarians. The grill sat in their attic for approximately the next 38 years. When the parents decided to downsize, the son sold the grill. Given the large turn tabs on the bowl vents, this pushes the grill into the late 1974 to 1975 era.

Wow. Beautiful!! Sucks that they don’t make red ones anymore–I really want one. The only option is to get a limited edition one in red–but all of those rare made in CHINA. Enjoy your red Weber!
