Vintage Weber charcoal grills from the 1960s are pretty rare. They can be identified most easily by thumbscrews present in the leg sockets, a lack of any patent number/pat pending stamp on the lid vents. Most examples from the 1960s have the double riveted wooden lid handle. However, prior to 1964 they had the metal lid handle “pointed towards” or parallel to the lid vent.
Weber charcoal grills available through the 1960s were Jet Black, Chestnut Coppertone, Red (Hunter’s Pink) Glen Blue and Avocado Green.
