Wow great story, and glad you got what you wanted.

Awesome!
Did they give you the choice between the ranch and the summit?

They didn't. I was trying to get the Summit because it would have fit in my SUV for the ride back. But they said they could only do the Ranch (not sure why) and they would ship it to me. I'm actually cool with that because the Summit would have a bit more overlap with my performers and other kettles. This way I have a beast for big party / extended family cooks.

Great stuff. I guess that fixes the problem with the SnS not fitting. Congrats.

I'm pretty sure the wife is going to notice when a ranch shows up on the patio.

Now you can sell the ranch, probably triple your original investment, and buy a ton more kettles off of CL.

Gorgeous!  Out of curiosity would you consider contacting Weber to see if they would offer you something ridiculous for it?  Only reason I ask is that it seems like if they were expanding their restaurant chain they may pay big $

Don't think that'll happen... but who among us hasn't thought the same thing.

Awesome story!  How does she go offering less than $500 Performer to a Ranch that is worth $1600 can. I would double check to make sure. :)
You must be on cloud nine now.

I know. That's why I thought I'd get shot down. But she really was the sweetest lady so I have nothing but good to say. Just thrilled with the outcome. I actually got an email order confirmation during my drive home so I know it's real.

It's simple really.  An old grill is worth X on the market. In your case let's say 500 bucks. So you want a Ranch that retails for 1200 bucks.   That Ranch probably costs them less than 500 bucks to make. Besides... What Jim Stephan wants, Jim Stephen gets!!!

Congrats on getting a ranch.
