First Official Ontario Canada WKC Meet-Up ...
« on: June 06, 2015, 09:28:12 PM »
…. With many more in the future.  And hoping we can get more on board.  :D

There was not a lot of planning on this one.
Once @MrHoss picked up that beauty yeller, plus that roti that was secured by @LightningBoldtz for me, we decided it was time.

He arrived at my house and we unloaded his chariot and started to cook.

Turds went on for a mid afternoon snack.
No pics, but we needed something quick, so it was some venison burgers to quell the hunger.

Ribs were on the "A" code for a ride all afternoon.  That's my go-to cooker for longer cooks and some low 'n' slow.
The wood that was used was the chunks of wine barrel staves that @Winz sent me in 2014.

Hoss brought along some freshly made Columbian sausage that was smoked, then grilled on Dolly.

Then the brisket point that he smoked 2 days previous was warmed up ….. Some of the best tasting beef that I have tasted in recent memory.

Enough of my rambling.  Here are some pics.

The roti ring looks right at home on the brownie.

I had to admire the lid on the Aristocrat.

Some random pics … Including my shy blue …  :-[ ??? ;D

Hoss packed up …. With "A Picture I Just Liked" …

Just after Hoss left, I shredded the remaining parts of the rib cook-up.  The rib tips, if you will.
I essentially remove most of the visible fat and end up with some very delicious meat.

This was a memorable get-together.  I was able to view some very nice and sought-after kettles … vice-versa.

But, more importantly, it was truly an amazing meeting, and hanging out with MrHoss was a pleasure, I must say.

I hope to do it again very soon.

Shortly after joining the board Mac reached out to me and a couple months later made a gesture of goodwill that surely ingratiated me. So this visit was a long time coming:

This Black 18 OTG did a lot of work...high heat smoke of Turds then a real low and slow (170f ish range) for sausages and finally a 250f session for the brisket:

When the sausages got close we put them on Dolly to grill some:

I had never seen how effective a weed burner can be in getting charcoal ready to go......in hurry:

I think I learned something about cooking ribs today...a rib cook with some changes is coming soon for me:

Mac, me and the Kettles watched a bit of the game before calling it a night:

Thanks for having me Mac.

Impressive day all around guys! Thanks for recording the event. Meetups are hard to pull off, whether for two or twenty, but you did it in style.

Oh my - that looks like fun!  Great to see you two get together.  The food looks outstanding - someday I am going to learn to cook ribs like that.

A very impressive showing of kettles.  The red flat top and the limey are making me envious.  And that blue - makes me squint it is so bright!  What a great lineup of 18s - all outstanding cookers.

Thanks for documenting an impressive meet up.
