Pizza month was epic! Kettle Pizza sponsored a month long pizza cook off event and donated THREE of their top-of-the-line Serious Eats Edition Kettle Pizza kits.
All of the judging and winner selection was done by the folks over at Kettle Pizza. There was just no way I could have judged this contest objectively.
We had more than 70 entries across three categories.
For the first category, Pizza 2.0, we were looking for new and creative pizza cooks. Crazy and unheard of pizza toppings. We asked, and Jason delivered with this spectacular shrimp scampi pie. Great job Jason.
In the Dessert Category, Nate knocked it out of the park with this apple crisp pizza. This needs to be in my belly soon. Totally digging that apple peeler gadget too! Great job Nate!
In the Best Overall Cook category, Austin (and PBE Gummi Bear) teamed up for a truly monstrous pizza cook. Several grills involved with everything being made from scratch. Bonus points for cooking on a vintage red 26″!
Thank you everyone for entering, and thank you Kettle Pizza for sponsoring this event (and producing such an EXCELLENT device.)
The grill you see here is about 60 years old, and cooks just as well as a new one. Let that sink in for a minute. When WKC forum member charred saw this listed online for “free,” he didn’t hesitate to get it. He knew it was special, but only learned afterwards just how special. Click here to…
Customizing a Weber kettle can be a rewarding experience as it allows you to tap into your creative side and really personalize the grill to make it your own. The classic design has changed so little over the years that for the most part you can mix and match parts between a vintage kettle and its brand new counterpart with ease. With that in…
Pictured here is a red 26″ “flat top” Weber kettle grill. This kettle is owned by WKC member Jeff. This particular grill was acquired from a Craigslist ad with the help of WKC founder Troy. He was kind enough to notify Jeff of the ad when it was posted. This grill was produced between 1970-72….
After a few obstacles and blunders – the 2014 WKC shirts have been printed and are shipped. If you haven’t received yours yet, hold tight – the last batch of shipments just went out yesterday. What’s that? You didn’t order one? No worries, I ordered extras so you still have a chance to join the…
What started out as a simple idea to cook some food and share pictures and ideas with friends somehow transformed into an online BBQ event of mass proportions! This past Sunday the WKC community stepped up huge and produced 48 separate cooks across the globe! The focus of the event was to celebrate this amazing…
It’s pretty obvious that we LOVE Weber here. I mean, a community of 12,000 people all here because they love the Weber charcoal grill – that says a lot. Why? Weber stands behind their products. Our forums and many others are filled with glorious tales of amazing customer service. Here’s a great example that happened…
Congrats to the winners!! Well-deserved!
