I love using the smaller and larger basket for cooking whole chicken/s (split or butterflied) directly over the briquettes.
I split a chicken and arrange it in the smaller basket. Lid on.
Juicy, tender chicken in around 35 - 40 mins.
The larger basket can hold two butterflied chickens.
Each chicken around 1.5-1.6kgs.
If you put two square steel rods along the top of the rotisserie ring (one rod on each side) you can put the lid on.
The rods are there so the basket doesn't hit the inside of the lid.
With the lid on maximum cooking time I have found is 45 mins.
Again juicy, tender chicken.
You can halt the chicken skin side down a couple of minutes before the end of the cook to crisp up the skin.
