Stained kettle lid

Any ideas on how to remove this stain would be greatly appreciated

Is that puke? I am sure there will be some good ideas here, but I would try hot soap and water with a soft brillo pad.

I always use 0000 steel wool to polish the paint on the kettles...wont scratch it a bit.  I've also found that Ceramabrite works good to polish and remove stubborn stains too!

What Jeff and Reilly said.. But Jeff, its not paint, it looks like paint, but its a lot tougher than paint. 
Some guys also use Meguiiars Car polish to make em shine. 8)

Not sure if that will come out. I learned by mistake. I used some aluminum cleaner on a lid daisy in my beginning stages of Weberitis... Bad idea, made the same marks, cannot get it out Damaged the porcelain finish. It had Acid in it(HCL), but it works great on the legs and ash catchers. It is only good on the Aluminum, lesson learned by me.
