It was a huge relief.  I can't tell you the disappoint of opening up a piece of history only to see it beat to hell.

Got it put together today.

I went with Zav handles (Brazilian Walnut) but still have the originals which I'll keep for somewhere down the line.  But I do love the Zav handles.  The wood is so much more dense and solid.


Added a plastic damper handle too.




Old and new together. Sadly the new one (not the flat top) is getting sold.

The wife will never suspect.

Hope to get a chance to burn in this weekend.

Agreed.  Don't plan on cooking on it a lot but I've got a Slow n Sear for a 26" that I'm going to use with this for slow cooks.
