Pizza month was epic! Kettle Pizza sponsored a month long pizza cook off event and donated THREE of their top-of-the-line Serious Eats Edition Kettle Pizza kits.
All of the judging and winner selection was done by the folks over at Kettle Pizza. There was just no way I could have judged this contest objectively.
We had more than 70 entries across three categories.
For the first category, Pizza 2.0, we were looking for new and creative pizza cooks. Crazy and unheard of pizza toppings. We asked, and Jason delivered with this spectacular shrimp scampi pie. Great job Jason.
In the Dessert Category, Nate knocked it out of the park with this apple crisp pizza. This needs to be in my belly soon. Totally digging that apple peeler gadget too! Great job Nate!
In the Best Overall Cook category, Austin (and PBE Gummi Bear) teamed up for a truly monstrous pizza cook. Several grills involved with everything being made from scratch. Bonus points for cooking on a vintage red 26″!
Thank you everyone for entering, and thank you Kettle Pizza for sponsoring this event (and producing such an EXCELLENT device.)
Back in 1995, the NFL sponsored a Bar-B-Q competition, with the prize being a very limited Weber Master Touch (MT) NFL Edition grill. Here’s what Weber had to say about these rare grills: “This is an extremely rare 22” kettle. These special editions were never sold at retail, they were only for the official NFL Tailgate…
Weber is listening. They’ve observed our desires for colorful kettles and responded with two new colors for 2014. The Crimson and the Copper. The copper appeared a couple years ago as a Target exclusive, and only as a One-Touch Silver. This year it’s available as Silver, Gold, Performer, and even as a Genesis for you…
This one came to me in the original box from a new member who was looking to trade for something bigger. I had a redhead Master Touch that I happily sent to him. Flawless in every way, it’s a fine example of the first date-coded Weber kettle.
The Maverick ET-732 was not the first wireless BBQ thermometer when was released in late 2010 but it took the backyard bbq world by storm. The Maverick ET-732, sometimes branded as Redi-Check, Imation, etc. has become the ‘standard’ wireless bbq thermometer for a reason. It’s accurate, its rugged, and it does its job. Mine has been…
This nice old SJ belong to WKC member MartyG. Here’s the story to go with the pics: Thanks to a fellow member here in Chicago, (Thin Blue Smoke aka: Todd) I was able to secure this fine example of a Smokey Joe from the year my son was born – 1981. Finding an old kettle…
