Snakes should burn clockwise for beef, counterclockwise for pork. @1buckie says so. Other than that, looks like a great start.

Haha I'll remember that next time. Temp staid stead between 225 and 260ish the whole time it was unwrapped. I wrapped at 170 degrees, and turned the heat up to 300 ish. It was probe tender at 208 degrees after about 6 and a half hours.  Its currently wrapped in towels in a cooler.

Turned put pretty good, I forgot to take pictures of the finished product though.  What rub do you all usually use on a chuck ?

Good info.  I just started trying the snake method two weeks ago,  so I'm still a beginner.  I'm not ready to try a reverse snake yet.

I did a snake with a brisket, a butt and a turkey breast on the Ranch  lit both ends and the middle of the snake and they were all done at the same time!!! I rest my case, I'm also full of shit ! I did it clockwise because the brisket was bigger

You guys had me going! [emoji38]
I teach a little of physics as part of the radiology course and i was thinking this is the most absurd thing ive ever heard.
But i understand now is “to account for the curvature of the earth and not disrupt the space/time continuum”
[emoji28]
Makes perfect sense!
