Help with grill ID
« on: May 05, 2020, 06:31:12 AM »
This grill has been around my family since the early to mid 70's. The legs, handle, vent, hinge, etc long ago rusted out but the aluminum "kettle" is as good as the day it was purchased almost 50 years ago. Anyone have an idea what is was originally? Is it a Weber knockoff, or a Weber I've never seen before? The holes that once held the hinge can still be seen. I am about to paint it, put a wooden handle on it and continue using it as a fire pit and sometimes grill. I had a heavy duty mesh grate cut for it to grill with but my regular Weber Kettle grate fits perfectly. I'm a newb so be gentle.....

I'm not sure what it is but someone was just asking about a similar one on the PK Grill Fanatics Facebook group. I'll let you now if anyone can ID it.

Buddy L Sunburst charcoal grill.  There were a few different handle designs throughout its production.

Obviously looking for a Glen Blue (who isn’t?😂).

Looking for anything Happy Cooker, including any re-branded as Montgomery Ward.  I’ve amassed a nice collection, but I’m missing a few still.  Let me know if you can help a fella out🤞

Missed that post.  This is a Buddy L Sunburst (15.5”).  My guess is that these were marketed as an apartment grill

That's it minus the top handle, appreciate it!

That's it, never knew what brand it was. My dad cooked on it for many years until the legs rusted out and now I have it on a chimanea base and use it for a fire pit. This one was that orange color in the picture. Thanks very much

Isn't the one on the right above (orange) a structo?  We had one when I was growing up and it had those handles and the harsh angled lid like that one.  Ours was yellow though.
