Keep it. Buy a hot water heater drip tray the size of the triangle and gallon of evaporust. The product is amazing!
Use some 0000 steel wool to get the crusty stuff off then soak overnight submerged in the evaporust. You may need to flip the triangle midway.
When done and you have shiny metal again, use some rust oleum clear enamel spray and it will keep the rust from returning.
I recently did this triangle. Zoom in. It was far worse on the bottom. I now do all my restores that way.

My setup. I have a 26 triangle in there now. It doesn’t quite fit, so I drape saturated paper towels over the parts I cannot submerge. It will fit a 22 and 18. Cover with foil to stop evaporation. The evaporust can be reused several times, so it’s a good value.
