My Dads old strange webber?

hello, i need your help with an OLD weber that my Dad had for a long time. I have it now but its kinda different than all the others i've seen? i asked a friend to check it out and he thought it was a jerry rigged however after checking it out a little closer it seems it was made this

WHAT? dang who'd thunk. when i was transporting it to my house i forgot to put the Ass Pan inside and it must have flew off$#$%%!. good thing its rust free and the enamel is in great shape, i'm going to pressure was it and take more pics of the inside.

thanks for your help now when people see it and laugh i'll be laughing at them...
