Those Socket Posts on Weber Kettles

Just a weekend warrior enthusiast here...

Riddle me this. So the socket posts are for tripod legs on the Kettles.
What rhyme or reason would Weber incoporate them into something the the Summit Charcoal, which does not utilize it at all ?

There is another post about this if you search the forums but I believe it's part of the manufacturing process, something to do with hanging the bowls while being enameled.

They support the one-touch ash collection and venting mechanism. More efficient to use existing parts and pieces than to re-design everything.

While on the topic of enamel....I'm going to have to think about this before expounding further. Enamel vs powder coat ?

The only disappointment for me on the Summit CG is the wheels !

I agree but I would think if they are pricing a unit as ~a la premium~, you would think everything would be from new design...with maybe some cues of older kettle X and Z just to mimic nostalgia.

And man, couldn't they make the lower tray stainless.
