My First Cado & Thumbscrew
« on: January 26, 2018, 07:22:10 AM »
First off, BIG THANKS to @Jason for agent on this.
Sale was yesterday from 9-2. Jason got there about 1:50 and grill was still there.
He texted a few pictures and called. We spoke and is now secured. Lid looks beautiful.
As most of my classics, but not all, this kettle tells a story. They like to get her hot. 1/2 looker 1/2 cooker. LOL Will need a wheel for restoration, existing one doesn't look good but tells a story.
Can't wait to see her in person and throw some coals in her. 67-68. Only a year or two away from birthyear kettle.

Anybody help out with a wheel? Thanks in advance

I'm glad I was able to help on this! I was pretty anxious on the drive North from work. You never know what kind of traffic nightmare will happen from day to day.

Way cool. Would be interesting to see what you could do with some evaporust, sandpaper, bondo, primer and paint on that wheel. Is there tread missing or did it just separate?

Hopefully someone has a donor for you.
