A Smokey Joe saved from the scrapper & moded
« on: July 25, 2017, 09:39:14 AM »
I found this SJ at the junk pile and brought it home.

A couple weeks later my neighbor and I were using his tractor to pull some logs out of the brush in my yard when he commented about how much loves using the Blue SSP (the one I screwed up a while back) that we done some trading for. Hes a single guy and mentioned the SSP is to big for him unless he has people over, and that he wanted to find something smaller.

My murdered SJ was sitting close by so I pointed at it and said something like that work for ya?

He replied Hell ya thats a good looking little grill, it'd be perfect. So I said to give me a few days and I'll see what I can do.

This what I did...

Replaced the lid & handle, added a weber thermo, made new grates, painted over the rust, put springs on the vents.

You can't always get what you want....but if you try sometimes you get what you need

Obviously looking for a Glen Blue (who isn’t?😂).

Looking for anything Happy Cooker, including any re-branded as Montgomery Ward.  I’ve amassed a nice collection, but I’m missing a few still.  Let me know if you can help a fella out🤞

Perfect name for that grill "Beyond Thunderdome"
Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill
