I saw this at Walmart in the fall and passed on it because I really dont need it.  I happened to be in there again today and it was still there in the corner with a few months dust on it.  Figured I would check the price and see if it was any cheaper.  It still showed $100 on the price checker.  Figured what the hell I would ask if they would lower the price any more.  The department manager said he would mark it down to $40.  I could not pass it up.  I figure worst case scenario I can throw it on Craigslist in a few months and at least double my money. 

Also picked up 3 boxes of starter cubes for a buck a box, could not pass that up either.

The better question is how did it sit there for so long.  Even for $100 its half the cost of new.

Nice score!  Never hurt to ask and get a great deal.  $40 marked down from already low $100. How do they do that?  That has to be way lower than Walmart cost $.

They sold it and just put $40.00 in revenue, rather than something taking up space.

Have been watching my store for a long time, $139 is the lowest they have dropped it,,,seen many stores in other states for $40,, not here
