rescued a red pat pend
« on: July 21, 2015, 05:05:20 PM »
grabbed this guy on CL today.  the wheels are shot and there is some rust but it is really solid.  It has the frame for the attached side table.  I think I would like to get a new handle from Brian unfinished and then build a new table and stain the same color.  I am guessing a 77-78 based on the wheels can anyone confirm that.  I will upload pics as I clean and restore

According to the handy dandy vent guide located here, it looks to be a '76 ~ '77 kettle

Thank you, I haven't seen that before.  Between that and the wheels I would say it is a confirmed 1977

Very nice kettle you have there, but I don't believe it is a patent pending?
This is the original Weber kettle. The most powerful bbq grill in the world and can blow your taste-buds clean off! So, you have to ask yourself one question: "Do you feel hungry? Well, do you punk?"

Yeah...its a patent number grill.
Patent Pending says just that.  No patent number is stamped in the vent.

Yeah I'm not sure why it is so hard to find, I thought it was stuck to a forum or a sub-forum where
folks could access it. :o Might be me suffering from CRS but I kind of remember it being so. ::)

Nice find
I want a red to put next to my green and my new black master touch
