That is the point craig.  A plain ol wok works with the WSM ring mod. No need to find a weber wok...any one will do.

The duke mod is cool but I like the simple stability of using a charcoal ring.
Being able to spin and rotate the wok and toss the food is the best part about not having the brackets welded to it. And woks are super cheap!

OK.....you guys convinced me....I went out & threw my wok in the garbage.....unstable, can't flip stuff around...what good is it?

......................... :o 8)

Either you missed my point, or you are being difficult.  In either case, what time is your garbage picked up? ;D

I need to find one of these woks! I know, "get in line!"  ::)   ;)

Ok, same question as blue smoke, what size ring? Also if the 26" ring fits perfectly on your 26", Brian, would a 22" wok sit in a 22 the same way?

It sounds like Brian would go for a 22 for the 22.  That is what i have settled on, and I think it could be used with an 18 or a 22

Since I don't have a WSM, it looks like I need to buy a ring off one.  This idea looks really cool, I've always wanted to get better at cooking with a Wok.

John, you could get the Cajun bandit one or try to snag one from someone who upgraded.
