I remember thinking at the time it was brilliant, but never following through on it. If you had it to do over, would you go for that large of a wok again? I am thinking I might use an 18 for my wok cooker, and in that case might opt for a wok in the 22 range.

That is the point craig. A plain ol wok works with the WSM ring mod. No need to find a weber wok...any one will do. The duke mod is cool but I like the simple stability of using a charcoal ring.
Being able to spin and rotate the wok and toss the food is the best part about not having the brackets welded to it. And woks are super cheap!
