I have a OTG kettle and plan to build a side table, I have done a bit of research and the majority all seem to attache to one handle. I have also ordered a lid bail that I plan to install so the one handle approach is not going to work for me. Has anyone built a wood side table (removable) that attaches to both handles?

Mirror clips might work, too...

Thanks for the response guys. I would like to stay away from the clips because i fear they will affect the seal on the kettle. I was thinking of making it wide enough to use the handles.

The lid lip overhangs enough that a thin clip won't affect the seal. I used to have the clip on utensil hooks and the kettle snuffed out just fine

Ok how about this-

Really simple design, it uses two pieces of timber to lock onto the handle, it's easily removed for storage. Let me know if you want more pics

Wow @Hogsy I am also looking at building a table and/or cart. I would love to see some pics of how that attaches. I love that dark wood color with the redhead.

Bigdave

@Hogsy that is the basic idea...except I will need to go wider due to the fact that I will be instilling the Matertouch lid bale. With the 2 handles on the OTG the handle will be "front and back" rather than on the side across from the lid bale.

Here's some pics . As you can see it's a really basic system to attach the table and it's a really sturdy table once installed. There's no reason you couldn't have one of these tables on each handle and have the lid bale installed as well

Thanks @Hogsy ! Just one question, Do the 2x2 legs just stay in place by the weight of the table? I don't see a locking system.

Hogsy

Does this answer your question?
