Those are sweeeet tables.  Has anyone drawn up the dimensions off of the originals by chance?

@Bugman , here is a thread that might help.  On the 2nd page there is an excellent drawing.

Fantastic!  Thanks Mac!  I like the idea of the wood cleat over the metal clip, but I get that is for a wood handle...

Didn't want to hijack this thread so I started one of my own project.

If you're handy with metal …. Then maybe consider something custom …. Like this:

I did a quick mock-up of the type Hogsy has to see if I would like it more than my SS Performer.  I do!
It allows me to have a table on any of my grills.  I think I may be selling the Performer and building a better version of this table.

I was thinking of adding a third fold down leg next to the kettle to support weight. Do you guys think that's necessary?

I don't think it's necessary, especially if you fit the table to the handle above the front leg, unless your planning on sitting on the table it should be able to handle any weight you put on it. I've never had one collapse on me and I've been using the table for years. I like the KISS setup of the table. It makes it easier to travel with or pack away once you've finished cooking. FWIW my table is a really tight fit on the handle , so some pressure is needed when attaching it to the handle
How did you find the sturdiness of the table once it was attached to the kettle?
I'm only 2 or 3 kettles away from being that creepy guy down the street with all the Webers

I've got some 3/4" MDF for the countertop.  Do you think that would be a good material for this project?

I would stay clear from MDF....once it gets some moisture it goes to pot fast.
