How old is your oldest chimney?

Just curious.  I have four and my oldest is four years old.  The top rivet on the handle has broken and there’s extra vent holes created by rust around the top.  I keep them outside but covered under an outdoor table.  Four years of hard use is about what I’ve gotten out of mine.

That’s nothing. I used one for nine yeas and put bolts where the rivets were when they failed at 5ish. It’s now the chimney I use at work and is being held together with a large stainless boot clamp that we use around rubber boots on commercial roofs.

6 years and still very sturdy...our arid desert climate keeps rust at bay.

Then again I've probably gone through a bunch, but I still have one thats at least 15 yrs old and still useable.

11 years I think had it before I got my AD 26er ss bolt and nut for the top rivet at around 5 or 6 years extra vent holes near the top from rust, just may patch those and get 10 more LOL use it on every cook because it just feels right

Less than a year old and it's just the Weber smaller version.  I'd never used chimneys in all the years I'd been grilling.

Definitely longer than 10 years. I keep it covered under the grill lid on top of the grill grate (after everything cools) and then cover my grill when I'm not using it. No rust or anything at this point.

10-12 years easy.
The oldest one is missing the bail
and lives in the uncovered fire ring full time.

So far I've never hat a rivet fail.
(I'll regret saying that. )

Currently own about 6 or 7.

Anytime I see one for under ten bucks I'll pickup another.
I've given several away to friends who used lighter fluid over the years.
They've never gone back.
