Increase heat WSM 14.5”
« on: January 04, 2020, 01:34:19 PM »
Can I get some quick knowledge on how to increase the temp quickly on the WSM 14? Cooking a chicken. Started Minion method. Should’ve added more lit charcoal. Running at 329 currently. Maybe it just doesn’t go higher?

Empty water bowl. Aluminum cake pan on top of that to catch drippings. At first I went with no water pan or anything else. The chicken fat was creating some acrid type smoke upon falling on the coals.

Sorry late reply, lots of guys crack the fuel door a little to up the temps.
I swear, when I score a great deal on a 26" I'll stop buying grills... So often.
