First 26'er, happens to be red - pic heavy
« on: May 24, 2017, 05:39:08 PM »
Yesterday was my lucky day.... We just had our 3rd child so I haven't been checking Facebook marketplace, letgo, OfferUp or Craigslist very often. I just happen to check Facebook and this beauty popped up.

I was lucky enough to see it 12 minutes after postings and I immediately contacted the seller. I scheduled to pick it up this afternoon and I didn't want to post until it was in my hands since I know how rare it is. Based on the age guide it is a mid 60's based on the vent and it having thumbscrew legs. Of course it's raining today so I will post better pictures this weekend. It is in grate shape and looks like it's only been used a few times. Charcoal and cooking grates just need cleaned a little. The gentlemen that sold it to me said it was his dads and his wife wasn't patient enough for charcoal so she made him sell it. He also threw in a table that he had for it. I haven't seen a table for this age 26'er. All it needs is some
sanding and sealing. All of this was only $50! He was happy that it was going to be appreciated and used. He knew it was worth much more. Enjoy!

Holy crap. Outstanding shape. That is a round top correct? A flattop is more common and not as old. Very cool.

I think it's a round top. I will get better pictures of the lid tomorrow. It might be popped in which is causing the vent to stick up.

Ok. That lid looks strange. My Aristocrat is a flattop and the vent is above the spot where it turns flat....all of the vent not just part of it. Your lid gets flat...almost past the top of the lid vent...almost. Odd.

Maybe you can call Weber about a warranty replacement.
