The old Aristocrats (like this grill) had the ash pans with the u cutouts and clips not the twist on.

I think it's a round top. I will get better pictures of the lid tomorrow. It might be popped in which is causing the vent to stick up.

i don't think the lid is popped in.  i think that is how it was made.  i think the bowls were something like that too.  here is a pick from the forums vintage grill thread...

Harris is correct. The twist ash pans came along for the 26ers late in the thumbscrew era 1967-68 or so. Around when the flat top lids came out.

That's no problem to send an ashpan wothout cutouts for your 26r with round 2 production. You only have to cutout by yourself and fix some hooks.
