My wife and I and another couple rented a cottage along the Indian River Inlet, Rehoboth Beach, DE last weekend. What a great thyme we had! I cannot say enough how this place just chills me out! Total relaxation, cooking, eating, drinking, camaraderie, drinking, napping, drinking, eating, did I mention drinking? We do this twice a year, once in the spring, once in the fall.
Here's what we suffer thru:
Here's
PART of the lineup:
Our traditional first night dinner is always scallops and leeks over a bed of linguine. I did not get any shots of that, butt I did get shots of the breakfast afterwards... scallop and linguine frittata:
And RedHead took the ride with us with her new bling:
Snack thyme... mussels and sausage in a white wine sauce:
In between naps, we did this:
More snacks:
One night we had NY strip steaks, seasoned with salt and pepper, bagged with a pad of butter on each steak, which I SV'd for 4 hours @ 134º, then onto RedHead for the sear. Served up with hasselback taters, shrooms, and stinky pee sticks:
And of course, breakfast happened the next morning with the leftovers:
Our last night there, we had crab cakes and Caesar salad:
And somewhere along the way, our friend Anita came up with some artwork:
Fishing sucked at best. The water temps were way too cold, windy, no fish in sight. We saw only two boats drift by the 4 days we were there, and only one other fisherman on the rocks out front. Butt oh well... next thyme. We're booked again in October, so that should provide better fishing conditions.
Thanks for looking!
