out of the world

great idea

I was putting a enclosed ash catcher on my 18 inch silver today and my wife comes out and ask what happened to the lod rusty green I had, I had to admit the bottom bowl was about to collapse and I tossed it. She freaked out saying it was the one that turned out the best tasting food. Oh well, looks are not for everyone I guess.

Here she is in all her faded freckled glory! I give you, The Redeye!

Hence the red "eye"

I love this old cooker. Solid as a rock 1975 Texan faded to grey.

Thanks to Marty (56MPG) I can join this club. I can't wait to cook on this thing. It also makes me want a larger weathered kettle.

For me it looks like a woman kissed the lid and in the middle a little tongueprint. I would call her Marilynn Monroe!

You decide

My 1977 faded black all cleaned up & showing a little patina. Not quite as weathered as others here.. but aging gracefully.

The top has more fade than the bottom

Who knows what dribbled there and prevented the fading. Some scratches and other marks.

Another view.

It's still my main cooker!

I'm driving along the back of my subdivision yesterday and notice this bad boy. I did a u-turn and snapped this photo.
