"Patina" Appreciation society - Weathered Warriors
« on: March 12, 2017, 10:54:36 PM »

The inspiration for this thread came from some recent posts of kettles that have gone way beyond "faded black" status. These are the kettles that have suffered so much porcelain degredation, there is bare metal showing through. Some even have the look of being made of copper like @WNC kettle. This little 18" I have named Robigus, the Roman God of rust. Let's see some of the other weathered warriors that have earned the "patina" badge of honor. Credit to @56MPG for the weathered warrior term.

@zavod44 has plenty more of this one, but I just had to get "Grandpa" on the page - the original Weathered Warrior.

@charred, let's see that one you picked up in NH.  I'm glad you picked it up, it had been sitting on CL for weeks.  Love to see some decent shots of it

I spotted this one in the wild. Haven't been able to get in contact with the owner for a trade.

If you look at Grandpa a certain way, it looks grumpy.

It was a kettle like this that was the inspiration for the WKC logo. It still inspires!
