18.5 WSM base with JJ lid for camping?

I know the JJ is ideal for camping, but what about pairing an 18.5 WSM base with a JJ lid?  Anyone have any experience doing this?  The WSM's bowl is much deeper than the JJ's. I also like that there's three vents on the side to keep burning embers where they belong rather than one on the JJ's bottom.  I'm interested in doing low-n-slow cooks in a dutch oven while camping (think chili or similar dishes), as well as the obligatory burgers and dogs. 

Any words of wisdom out there on this setup?

Pro:  it looks kinda cool
Con:  doesn't have the lid bale

What are you using for a cooking grate?
