Show your gasser
« on: September 29, 2014, 09:03:02 PM »
Yes this is a Kettle Club. Some are shy to admit they have one. Kettle is my first choice, hands down. I look at it as an accessory to my kettles. Warming station and in the sub-zero temps of winter here, a finisher for some longer cooks. I also have extended family that loves the cooks, but get severe heartburn for some reason, after having good food off a kettle. So I have added a gasser. I purchased this late last fall. Just got around to do some cleaning and some rebuild, but not a total bare bones rebuild.

This is a G5000 with new Rotis and smoker box. Just noticed after getting this back together, the smoker box has a water reservoir.

My first gasser, now in the hands of a fellow WKC member.

I forgot about that performer gasser , it's pretty cool
I cooked on my gas kettle with the wok for the first time in ages the other night
Thank god for charcoal!!!! I cooked a stir fry and even though the kettle was on high it didn't get anywhere near as hot as when I'm using charcoal and the wok
I'm only 2 or 3 kettles away from being that creepy guy down the street with all the Webers

Really Joel? Was that a conversion gasser?
If it breathes, we can cook it!

"Thank God for Charcoal!!!!", agreed. Add a Vortex below the Wok and see how fast it lights up.

Yeah, good question.

I've fried in the wok using the kettle gasser.

Although the kettle has been modded - no diffuser, and a different burner - my RatRod     8)

(They've gone way up in price)

Tube is a perfect fit, but the burner is flipped so it won't work with the diffuser (flames above the flange instead of below).
Dude, relax your chicken.

That's a sweet Performer Gas Kettle there! Does that prototype model have a tuck away lid?

It also looks like the wood trim along the front is like one giant kettle wood handle top piece. I like that!  8)

@Craig

Actually, the detail on the Gas Performer, is it was a production piece. Yes the lid tucked away on either side. The table grates actually lift too.
Not sure what the purpose was for grates to flip up.

Nope, it was this one

I imagine the the gas conversion kit would be even worse as it's setup for cooking indirect only

Ah, OK, I see.

Obviously it's defective.

Just send it to me and I'll suffer through using it.

No need to thank me. I do what I can.

No chance Dazzo!!!
The stir fry turned out great, I just noticed a huge difference in the heat compared to cooking with charcoal

As tempting as that is, since I have one, I can't justify the first class ticket from the Land Down Under

Golly, would you seriously part with one if I were to pay to get it sent across the pond? If you were to guess a price for shipping what would the range be. I have always wanted a gas kettle ever since I knew of their existence
