I did my first summit brisket today.   First brisket ever using only lump coal.  Ive been using mostly lump with this grill.   I did not see a noticeable difference in the end product.   The grill performance was amazing.  I got 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep thanks to rock solid temps. Fuel economy was good despite temps in the 20s.  10 hour burn with several hours to spare.  This grill will make your kettles jealous!

Very nice. Excellent Smoke Ring! I'll bet it was tasty, cause it looks like it. Well done,

Looks awesome! Did you not use any wood, like chunks of pecan or oak? Only hardwood lump?
What grade of brisket did you cook, Choice, Prime?

I used 4 hickory chunks buried in the coals.   It was choice grade.
