Bought my first vintage kettle today

From an estate sale. $45 and about 45 miles. Maybe you fine folks could help me identify the year. It says "pat pending" on the vent, so I think that means 69-72?

Beautiful first vintage kettle!  Patent pending with metal wheels/rubber tread makes this a 69-70.   Looks to be in good shape.

Yes.  Based on the wheels, perhaps a bit more likely that it was made in the earlier part of that range.

It's the specific model name. Black 22's from the 60's and 70's are known as "Texan's."
