A resto from this passed spring.  My one-and-only gasser ... A late 1980s Genesis Jr.
Very happy with how it turned-out.   :D

This CI restore was done 3 years ago.
I got my inspiration from Marty ( @56MPG ).  His post of a Dutch oven restore is earlier in this thread.

A re-post of his blog for anybody that is curious about it.  Works great!

Not bad but still needs some cleaning.

Taken apart to clean.

In progress:

All cleaned up. New grates, handle, legs, and the hardware will be used. I don't think I could have gotten the inside the bowl and the lid any cleaner.

Outside the bowl and the lid are also spotless, minus bit of porcelain loss around leg mounting areas.

After:

Not quite finished yet.  Special touch coming from MacEggs - Zav Mahogany SJG handle for this Blue. Thanks Mark! Looking forward to it.

I'm not gonna lie, it was one of the easier transformations I've done.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch
