Not a kettle, but rather an accessory.

...and a tribute to the teamwork at WKC.

This Genesis gasser was given to me by the folks who I used to do Caretaker work for.  We lived in a small apartment above the garage for several years, and I made a bunch of meals on this old thing.  They were so impressed that when they replaced it, they wanted me to have it.  I don't use it much at all, and even thought of selling it, but folks around here shared enough tips and success stories that I thought I'd try to bring it back to life.

I was going to replace the wood with some redwood that super-carpenter Bman would craft for me, but then Jeff found a stash of old Weber accessories at a hardware store in Spooner, WI and was kind enough to share them in the Trading Post-- all three shelf parts, including hardware.  The 'Durawood' (PVC) didn't quite match the old wood handle, so I updated to plastic.  And another cool part of this story was that the bottom shelf package was light one of the two sections of shelving, which Weber CS replaced for me at no charge.  You gotta love customer service that extends back 20 years!

Okay, here it is.  Hopefully the differences between the 'before' and 'after' photos are obvious enough.

That's just the problem, Lawrence-- it's too clean to cook on!  I don't have the heart to get it greasy.  ;-)

Not everyone deserves to know the real you. Let them criticize who they think you are.

Oh, and full disclosure:  I found an exact match donor grill a couple of months ago, so was able to build a 'best of' grill with all of the parts (and share some with Curt in FL and another friend in MD).  But it's mostly built from the original grill.
