Suffered a break in yesterday and have since started
thinking about my kettles. Is this something a thief would
come back for? Do you guys have any suggestions to secure
them from theft? Whomever was in my house saw all the kettles
on the porch as that's the door they exited. I live in the country
and the nearest neighbor is around 200 yards away. I will be getting
an alarm system but that's not going to do anything for a quick
snatch and grab. Just curious if anyone has ever had an issue
or wondered about this.

I hope you and your family are ok and can get some piece of mind. I doubt your kettles will be prime target but you never know. I used to keep a cheap bike lock on mine when I lived in a seedier part of town. You can also cover the kettles to obscure them. Each of these are only a few bucks on amazon. You don't need and expensive lock either because the legs aren't so strong. It's just for theft deterrence.

Ugh, that has to be very unnerving!  Especially since you just brought a newborn home.  Very sorry to hear...
Personal opinion --- I don't worry much about the kettles.  Pretty much anyone interested in them is on this forum.  :)
I've always had gas...  And now a bunch of kettles because of this place.  Thanks!

dude, so sorry. That's is like being violated...I fixed that problem quick fast when I got a big fucking dog...

Sorry to hear that! I hope everyone is doing ok. As for the kettles, I think to Bmans point very few people would think about taking them. No matter what, it sucks and it would make me feel violated. I want a privacy fence along my patio in the worst way. Not that it would prevent theft, but people wouldn't see my patio from the street behind me.

Got a dog, Labrador was in his kennel in the house. He barked his head off according to neighbor. Bad thing is I got off early so I could go Dove Hunting and come home to that. They got spooked and only got my Samsung Plasma and Shotgun. I loved that damned TV! And the gun had a lot of sentimental value. Could have been a lot worse!!!! Funny thing is I knew I had been broken in because the Kingsford by the door was knocked over. They closed the door behind them, when I entered my dog looked scared out of his mind.

Sorry to hear. I'm glad everyone is ok. Im glad no one was home to be harmed. Everything is replaceable as long as your family is safe.
A Wonderful Family!!!

Sorry to hear that. As much as we appreciate our Kettles, they are replaceable.

That's terrible Brian. Glad everyone is ok though. Hope everything works out in ur favor.
Not everyone deserves to know the real you. Let them criticize who they think you are.

I would be more worried about guns falling into the wrong hands than grills.....

I cannot control the gun at this point but the rest of my possessions are still important to me. I am going to check the pawn shops but I doubt I ever recover it.

Not to be preachy, but zavod is right. If you don't already have one, a decent safe for your firearms is far more important than the kettles. I work in the Washington juvenile justice system, and I've learned a thing or two about thieves: they tend to target small and/or easily sold items of significant value. Kettles aren't particularly valuable, and they certainly aren't small. I wouldn't worry too much about them. Jewelry, electronics, bikes (surprisingly), firearms, knives, power tools... These are the things that typically get stolen. I'd check Craigslist too. Chances are better that your stuff will end up on CL than in a pawn shop.

bthorn9435 I am very sorry. I'm glad you and your family are safe. Have you thought about some sort off digital surveillance?

I had the one gun, I wish now I would have never posted. I only mentioned the kettles as this is what the club is about. I didn't mean to open it for comments on how irresponsible I may be as a gun owner in some people's minds. It's a sad world where we have to put things in safes. When we don't we are considered the ones at fault, not the low life scumbag who robbed me. So I should sit around and pine over what a robber is going to do with my gun. Safes are expensive items and if I had an expansive collection I would invest. That's just my opinion, I could be wrong. Aw fuck it who wants pie?
