Hi, I hope everyone is doing ok. I’m behind in posting my recent acquisitions from over the summer, but I do want to say thank you to a few members that helped me recently.
I acquired this early 60’s sea foam galley que from a member. A few years ago he said he’d let me know when the time comes to let the galley que go to a new home. I’m super excited to add this little GQ to the collection, it’s such a fun, bright color.
The 18” yellow yachtsman was purchased from an estate sale. It’s 100% complete but I’m fighting two stuck bowl vents underneath. I haven’t fired it up yet, but I’m looking forward to a cook with dueling yachtsmen!
You may remember the last kettle from a post by SixZeroFour for an early MBH gas kettle for sale in Seattle. Huge thank you to Swamprb for agenting and shipping to NC. It turns out the seller and Swamprb are prior acquaintances and so I was extremely relieved for the agent assistance. I still have some work to do before the first cook, but I’m envisioning a dedicated wok and griddle station. For now I’m admiring the slightly faded patina and pronounced peel. The gas kettle will be a really fun project and good motivation to get my outdoor grilling area done. Big thank you to SixZeroFour, Swamprb and also appreciate JEBIV’s guidance on pricing.
Last item is a Weber food warmer I bought from eBay. I was surprised by how hot it actually gets, neat little cast iron accessory. I’m totally excited to use this in the garage during the winter to keep my coffee press warm!
That pretty much covers all the new items I’ve added to my vintage collection. However I’ll take a moment to lament over a work table that got lost in the mail. I’ll spare y’all the details, maybe it’ll miraculously show up someday, just accept that shit happens sometimes.
Thanks for looking, and be safe out there.
