SSP Propane tank
« on: July 23, 2020, 12:25:25 PM »
Old tank is empty and expired and too much trouble to get recertified. Any one have any idea if this tank is a good replacement and will fit and hang on the SSP?  I think you just have to unscrew the connector on the old tank and put it on the new tank.

I think those fit with a little modification.
My local propane place recertifies the original tanks for about 5 bucks with a fill up.

If you buy the new one, be careful to check the opening where it mounts.  The Manchester tank has a rectangular opening which fits onto the gen 1 performer frame.  The flame king brand has a round opening which will not.

Yeah that tank works.  I got the same thing from Menards.  Mine had a hole to hang it rather than the rectangle opening.  I just cut the hanger bracket on the grill a little narrower on top so it fits on the tank.  Easy to do with a Dremel or grinder.

Thanks for the responses. Tried another refill spot and at first would not fill it but after we talked a little he ended up testing for leaks and felt good about it and filled it up for me. [emoji106][emoji106]. Hopefully it lasts a few more years.

I was gonna say send me the tank and I can get it recertified for like 15 bucks. Then it's good for 5 years I think.
