I had just bought one of those at full price a few weeks ago as a gift for a 1 year old. I have to admit I was pretty jealous. Is there a way to shop at Sam's without a membership?

You can usually get a visitors pass and pay 10% more.  If you buy meat (and why would you be here if you didn't). A Sam's, Costco or BJ's membership pays for itself in no time.
The meat quality has been superb.

Just the discount at their fuel pumps pays for our fees and we belong to all 3.
Gas at Sam's this morning was $2.15.
Across the street it was $2.40.
