Well poop! The outside got too well done...inside was ok. These where loin back ribs I usually buy the way thicker. I also usually wet brine them over night. Which I skipped this time. Lesson learned.

Too much heat. Only need coals on 1 side. Keep tempature of grill no greater than 250 degrees. It will take longer but you will love the results.

Yes definitely too much heat.  After 1.5 hours it looks like your coals are already spent  so you added more.  Judging from your setup and photos , temperature probably ran above 300.

Well I have done ribs before, just not this skinny. And I did loose track of time...my bad...i added coals every 1 to 1.5 hours...was pretty disappointed in myself...but we will be more careful next time...

We cut out the inedible, and doused the rest in sauce...[emoji41], it worked. I'm just thankfull some friends brought some killer kabobs, and saved us all...lol
