Grillgrates salmon

They worked grate. A chunk of cherry wood in the fire and seasoned with spog. Absolutely outstanding. I’m strongly considering a full grillgrates grate for the 22 or 26. They are really versatile. My favorite use is the flat side. They didn’t stick at all. I was very impressed.

Yes they were. Cooked around 300-350 for about a half hour. That’s the first time I’ve used the grill grates for salmon and I debated which way to go. This was a 3.5 lb skinless filet from Costco that I cut into pieces. If they had skin, I would probably have gone direct at least part of the cook if not the whole time.

I think Sam's sells a similar product.  My local supermarket carries wild/fresh caught sockeye and I pick it when it's on sale, usually about $10 lb. instead of the normal $20.  So, looks like it's Yellowfin this weekend ($9 lb.)  But, when that sockeye price drops, I'm with you on the flattop GGs.

My wife seasoned that one. I hit it with some maple smoke!
