My 2018 Weber Kettle Goals complete..in one week
« on: June 06, 2018, 02:47:55 AM »
At the beginning of the year I had a modest goal to snag a blue and a copper this year.  Ideally I would get a target copper with the end result to convert it to a MT.

Scored the blue last friday

Scored the copper yesterday
I am not a collector, but I do have a small collection.

Nicely done, it's good to have goals
Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

Congrats! What makes it a "target" copper?

For 1 year (this is an AA 2011 code) Target sold a copper OTS, came with cool black handles.  No back handle so they are ideal for converting to a MT.

Never come across one, but I like the Target Coppers because they are one of the last (if not the last?) without taco lid, and without a thermometer opposite the lid vent ... two demerits my newer copper has. :)

Digging those blaik triangles, too!

Congrats Boltz on the goals completed. BTW, Weber did offer a Copper OTG/Premium in 2014 "AH" before switching to taco handle in 2015. I have both the Target and the 2014 versions. Here's a couple shots of the "AH".

Awesome Jeff!  I set some pretty high goals myself, but think that they all are attainable (except Glen Blue, ha!).  Hoping to get the blue lantern soon so I can stop checking eBay twice an hour!  Can’t wait to see the copper when you are finished with the conversion!

Congrats on the acquisitions after you register the target copper see if they still have the black handles. When my order was placed they were low on the black handles.
If you don't have one go to a hobby shop or something similar and get a cloth measuring tape.

What is a MT conversion?

Welcome to WKC.

M/T is Master-Touch

The MTs have a lid bale, lid thermometer, wood handles, ash catcher bucket. Some models have some of that, but the MT has all of them in a standard standalone kettle.
