This weekend we took a quick overnight road trip down to South Florida to complete the last leg of a kettle relay from Addicted-To-Smoke in Tennessee to an unsuspecting buddy in Ft. Lauderdale.  I apologize it took me so long to get it down there, but during the delay, some side deals were made along the way...

A few weeks ago, I connected with new member @Jon Tofte who was looking for a vintage red kettle.  We made a deal on a red MBH and knowing that I was making a trip south anyway, I wouldn't mind delivering to him.  I learned he liked restoring Genesis gassers as a hobby which was perfect because I had a few BNIB Genesis parts just collecting dust.  I decided to throw those gasser items in with the kettle, along with a sidekick and a cover.

A couple days later, @Chiku18 sends a CL link to red OTS, and asks me if perhaps Jon could agent since he's close by.  "No problem", Jon says.  The next day he secured this red OTS in really good condition.

So we planned to make a swap on my way down to drop off the relay kettle.  In the interim, I helped him score a $40 blue SSP and just a few days before the trip he sends me a text message with his latest pickup... for free!

After we talked about the rarity of his find, Jon Tofte straight up GAVE me this Woodard cart!!  I still can't believe his generosity!

Thank you, Jon.  I promise it will be cherished here in my collection and restored as time and resources allow.

Here's the red swap in Hobe Sound

The relay drop off in Ft. Lauderdale

The Woodard loaded up.

Oh... and on the way home, I tested my luck by reaching out to a three month old OfferUp ad for this new grate with the cast iron insert.  Timing worked out perfectly for pickup as we rolled through West Palm Beach.

Great RRR Roadtrip, thanks to ATS, Jon, and Chiku for making it all happen.

Wow, that's an amazing amount of good karma all around!
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

Congratulations chiku18.  In regards to photo #6 (the Woodard loaded in the vehicle),  is it the lighting or did someone sandblast the kettle bowl for the Woodard cart?

Jim, this is what the bowl looks like, porcelain completely gone.  I'm open to any suggestions.

P.S. - Just dropped off the cart for sand blasting and powder coating.  The guy said he'd seen one of these before many years ago.  Cool.
