Tri Tip and Quail egg sliders
« on: October 10, 2017, 05:35:50 PM »
Cooked up this Tri Tip on the grill...

A few days later I sliced up the leftovers on my P.O.S. slicer...

Grilled some slider buns...

Heated my griddle on the grill and added some thin onion slices...

After they cooked a while I piled on the sliced TT and some smoked cheddar...

If all goes well I can lift the whole pile and place it on the bun...

Like this...

Quail eggs one at a time...They cook super fast...

And it's time to eat...

Hell yeah!
And thanks for lookin at my cookin  8)

Youza!
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

Damn that's awesome!!  I fried up some leftover tt for my eggs the other morning. Excellent pairing but I was missing the cheese evidently.

Holy Cow! I had quail eggs once, hard boiled, and almost barfed.  But that looks so spectacular, I'd give it another go...

A friend of mine in Nebraska raises quail...Sent me 5 dozen eggs...No barfin here...But I never had one hard boiled...
The yolk to white ratio is heavy on the yolk side...Somewhat richer flavor than a chicken egg...I wish i had some more...

I ate quail eggs almost daily when I lived in the Philippines; used to buy them soft-boiled from street vendors....
