For the sake of continuity, I’ll post this mystery “D” code again, even though it has migrated cross-country to California to live with our resident chef, Inkaddictedchef. 

Now looking for an “E” code to continue...

Charlie, since you started this game, you have the final say on the rules.  I enjoy this thread, and would like it to continue with some added enthusiasm.  So...I have suggestions to spice things up.

1.     Include earlier kettles, since we can date ‘em by damper:
Chicago
Wood Dale
Arlington Hts. (thumbscrew)
Patent Pending
‘71-‘75
‘76-‘77
‘78
A thru ...

2.     One day of inactivity allows us to skip to next year/period. 

3.      This one might go to far[emoji23]. To encourage quick replies...we get to chastise those who post out of sequence, or post the same year that someone just posted.  I’ve been beat to the punch a couple times, so I’d go back to edit my post, and hope to be first the next time around.

The reason I started this game was to encourage members to post more pictures of their kettles.  I like your idea of including the earlier varieties to get more participation.  I think it could also help educate members on the nuances of identifying a kettles’ age based on lid vent, wheel type, etc.... I could certainly use a refresher myself periodically!

Thanks for your suggestions, Mike.  For the first go-round, let’s try to capture every year/period before skipping.  Chastise away!!!! 

No “i” code, looking for a “J” code to continue.
