Uh oh! Are they allowed to have that?
« on: June 01, 2017, 12:33:34 PM »
Someone's going to get in trouble (the default result to anything real or imagined in a condo it seems)...

I was visiting someone in a condo and was looking down from their balcony and saw a bunch of other balconies with gas barbecues.  Then I noticed that bright round performer down there.  See it in the corner of that one balcony?

My understanding from the building's board of directors' president is that propane is a no-no because of the regulations surrounding bringing the tanks indoors and that all the gas barbecues are literally that - they run on natural gas from taps on the balconies where the condo owners opted to have gas service run outside for that purpose.

Nobody seems to know what the score on charcoal is though when I asked about it. Obviously the propane regulations aren't applicable and that looks like one of the smaller performers that doesn't have the gas assist charcoal ignition.  I wonder how the deal with the charcoal startup smoke? Moving that grill away from all the surrounding units isn't possible at all.

I wonder how often they use it? If there have been complaints? How it's been handled if there were?

I couldn't handle condo living, that's for sure.

Your time would be better spent doing bird's eyes on the bikinis at the pool.  ;D

A chimney of coal lit by a gas ignition doesn't give off too much smoke. They probably have good neighbors..
Its all good in the hood!
