I was going to swap my red bowl and lid from my 95 SSP on to my Gen 2 frame but the black bowl on the Gen 2 is in much better shape then my red bowl so I left it for now.

Where are you guys getting the wooden heat guard for the dampers?  I'm hoping to pick up a gen 2 crate and barrel this weekend...Hoping the clist purchase doesn't fall through. haha

Here's my custom Gen2 with a "EZ" Redmist kettle saved from a roached out SSP. A set of awesome @zavod44 Tiger Maple finish it off.

Based on the photo below, can you guys tell if its the grass green crate and barrel performer or a sage green performer?

Grass green by the looks of it. Sage has more of a pastel yellow tint to it.

Awesome. Thanks, Looking at different pictures online it's hard to tell sometimes.  Seems like there's different shades of grass green kettles.  Planning to pick this one up tomorrow!

Everytime I see these pics, it makes me regret giving my gen2 blue to my brother.

Just got my Gen 2 Crate and barrel performer.  Cleaned it up pretty well but still has some rust/knicks on the lid.  Thinking about getting a replacement gen 3 lid.

Thoughts on the difference between the thermometer in the lid vs the handle?  Which do you all prefer?

Here is a gen 2 I owned for about a month. I picked it up for $50, with a Weber cover, and gave it to my friend as a home warming gift. I’d love to score a Performer for myself one day. Got my eyes on a Red SSP

Perhaps a slight preference for the old style.

The old style places the tip nearer the vent, making it more useful (accurate) in my opinion for the typical indirect cook. And also, you can remove it and use it as a leave-in meat thermometer, or swap it into an old Genesis.

The 3rd Gen thermometer could be easier to see and therefore to read. But neither will be accurate to grate temp.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

I like the one in the handle, just something classy looking to me

LOL I’m loving that the handle says PETA and so much meat is cooked on these things.
