According to the Home Depot we went to it was a mistake but they would honor it anyway. Took a bit of wrangling. I would be interested to hear if anyone else was able to make it work. They called the Illinois store and they had changed the price back.

It's fitting that the only model to have such a star-crossed introduction had a dealer who screwed up the price. How, or why, would you do that, when *nothing* from Weber goes on sale, let alone half off?

It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

Seeing it at 100 is one of those moments where you see it , you look at the sku to see if it's a fluke , and then try to not have that " oh fuck yea I just got over " grin on your face

I received a response from weber on what grills are assembled (made?) here and abroad.  Pretty much what everyone already knew I think.

"Hi Sean,

Thanks for being a long time Weber fan!  I'd be happy to help you with this.  Weber grills are designed and engineered in the USA using globally sourced parts. We assemble all but the Spirit, LE REd Kettle and Genesis II (not including the Genesis II LX) series of Weber grills in our USA-based factories. Our accessories are designed and engineered in the USA, and many of them are sourced and manufactured outside the USA.

If I can help with anything else please let me know.

Thanks and grill on!
Sean"

Finally had a chance to lay eyes in this grill at Lowe’s. Not bad looking. Didn’t see any obvious defects. The one touch was getting hung up on rough area of porcelain on the one touch. Overall looked decent.

First time I’ve tried out the newer style ash bucket. What a mother effer. Can’t teach an old dog new tricks I guess.

"The one touch was getting hung up on rough area of porcelain on the one touch"

And more than one photo shared here shows missing red porcelain from underneath the One Touch's washer.
