Damage Dilemma

The new 22" WSM came yesterday from Amazon.  There is a small dent in the top lip of the body portion.  It does not impact anything but it is annoying to have such a defect when I just paid good money for it.  I really want to use this weekend. Should I
1. I use it then return it to Amazon?
2. Just return it to Amazon and try to figure out something else for this weekend
3. Call up Weber and see what they can do for me
4. Just keep it and not worry about it because it is not bothering anything
Looking for 22" or 26" kettles and 22" WSMs, NIB or like new in the Chicago area.
Also, looking for old Summit gas grill parts.

I'd call Weber customer service first and see if they will ship a new lid. If they will then you can use it and the new one should arrive next week. Since it just shipped new in the box I doubt they would give you any flack over it.

Amazon is really good about damaged items. If you email or do a chat session they will usually try and give you a percentage off and give you the option to keep the item. Maybe that would be cheating the system in this case because you are getting a new lid from weber.

Used 22 had a loose weld on the lid handle..they replaced the lid
And I gave the old one to one of our members..
I can't stop lovin my Weber!!!

That's awesome! Glad that worked out well for you.

FYI for the next guy to have this issue. Save the box. Take pics of all damages. Inspect all components for damage. Be prepared to email pics if CS asks. Have receipts if you have em, but it's not necessary to have it. Be polite. Shmooze up the CS rep with some small talk. ...and whatever you do don't say "oh ya, I'm a member of WKC. They said you would take care of this."
