HoosierKettle

I dug this out of the trash a month ago. It has a decent size hole from grate tab cancer and the one touch system had to be cut out. Missing legs and everything below the bowl.

I would like to make this compact for a larger portable grill than my sj.  I can get the one touch from weber for $23 including tax and shipping and I could buy a 6' length of aluminum pipe for legs for $6.99. That would be the max I would want to spend on this one. It's a 2002.

Not sure on leg length yet. Thinking somewhere between 6"-12"?  Or thinking about buying a piece of aluminum flat stock and trying to bend sj legs.  Looking for ideas. Not sure it's even worth it but I couldn't let it go to the dump.

It does have usable grates so I won't need those.

Good save. Damn shame about that cancer, butt if you get creative, a patch can be welded or riveted into place. As far as the leg length goes, make sure you have enough to attach an ash pan.
Multiple kettles and WSM's. I am not a collector, just a gatherer... and a sick bastard.

Looks like that washer should take care of the cancer for awhile. There have been some nice mini-builds here for ideas.
